Committees

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR - 2014

This committee is responsible for developing, creating and submitting the chapter of the year contest entries. This includes the full booklet submission that answers 25 questions provided by the APA with pictures and documents, the pictorial contest submission, the website submission and any other contests related to chapter of year.

The preferable size for the committee is 4-5 participants. The commitment is minimal during the year, but a high level of commitment is required during December through March. This is a great way to get involved if you do not have a lot of time to spare and if you have a creative nature.

The committee touches base via email several times during the year and begins meeting monthly in October. Most submissions are due in February and March, so meetings may increase in frequency to accommodate these deadlines.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

This committee was formed in 2004. Our goal is to research and select activities for members to participate in throughout the year. This includes volunteer activities that will bring the chapter public recognition in the Denver community and activities designed purely for fun. The committee should consist of 8-10 members, will meet monthly and all participants will be expected to help research activities and promote them to members.

MEMBERSHIP

The membership committee is committed to finding new and exciting ways to spread the word about the Denver Chapter Payroll Association. Our intention is to recruit new members and to retain the members that we currently have.

NATIONAL PAYROLL WEEK

The National Payroll Week (NPW) committee was organized to promote NPW and payroll as a profession in the Denver Metro Area. It was also created to increase awareness of payroll and how the men and women of payroll work tirelessly to maintain compliance with ever changing federal, state and local regulations, helping their employers avoid costly penalties.

The committee meets once a month starting in April and ending in August to plan events for the week of NPW. It is an exciting and challenging committee where we always welcome new ideas. After serving on this committee, you will have a new outlook of how great it is to be in the payroll profession.

NOMINATIONS

This committee is responsible for organizing and conducting the elections for the DCPA Executive Board of Directors each year. Most communications between committee members are accomplished via email or telephone with a minimal need to meet in person. Meetings are scheduled as necessary.

PARTNERSHIP

The Partnership Committee actively seeks sponsors for Rocky Mountain Regional Payroll Conference, monthly Professional Educational meetings, and other events as needed.

RMRPC

The RMRPC committee begins meeting once a month in January to start planning the regional conference which occurs in September. There are several tasks the committee must complete including selecting a site, arranging for speakers, menu selections, class schedules, registration, vendor fair, decorations and entertainment, among others.

The committee concludes its meeting schedule in September and does not meet in October, November or December. It is an energetic, focused committee with several deadlines to meet. It is fun and rewarding to be a part of this major annual event.
