CPP/FPC Study Group

CPP/ FPC Study Groups

For all Study Groups, on-line pre-registration is required. As a study group participant, you will be a candidate to sit for the FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) examination. The CPP examination requires a signed affidavit stipulating your fulfillment of one of the three qualifying options.

Saturday Study Group:  Sessions are held on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (7 hours), and participants need to provide their own lunch and snacks.  There are a total of 5 sessions, with the final session ending as the testing window opens for the FPC & CPP exams.  Each topic overview is led by a subject matter expert, including experts from outside of the Chapter that specialize in a particular subject.

DCPA members who already hold CPP designations are encouraged to participate in the study group as mentors to assist candidates in their successful completion of the study group and preparation for passing the examination. Presenters with a CPP designation can earn up to one RCH for each hour of lecture.

Reference Materials

The DCPA's Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall study groups will use the Payroll Source book from the American Payroll Association as the primary reference . Attendees are responsible for obtaining the reference material for the study group. The DCPA may have books available for purchase depending on the time of year and availability. The Payroll Source is an excellent reference book which offers chapters on all subjects you must master to pass the FPC or CPP exam and also includes sample questions and tests. The price of the book fluctuates from year to year.  Please check the Chapter's website for availability and current price.
